Nero manages to win the battle with his dead-beat dad, but the group is still left with the Qliphoth to deal with.Ĭhopping the Qliphoth down is small potatoes for people like Dante and Vergil, but unfortunately it's only possible to do so while in hell, and that means whoever is down there will be stuck once the portal closes. He challenges Vergil, and the two agree that if Nero wins both brothers will stop trying to kill each other. While Dante and Vergil had been fighting, Nero realized that he could not live with either brother killing the other, and so he returns to the Qliphoth's apex to put an end to their fighting. Their sibling rivalry is ruined, however, when Nero comes busting back in with a new Devil trigger form of his own. Despite this, both remain intent on killing one another. In recombining his halves, Vergil also gained a Sin Devil Trigger, and now he and Dante are practically even. When Dante goes after Vergil, Nero insists on joining him to prove that he isn't just " dead weight."
